How to paint digitally

Feb 20, 2024 - By August van de Ven

Digital painting is a relatively new art form where artists use digital tools such as graphics tablets, styluses, and software to create artwork. Similar to traditional painting techniques, digital painting involves applying color and texture to a digital canvas using specialized software or apps like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter or more recently ProCreate. Artists can simulate various traditional painting mediums, such as oils, watercolors, and acrylics, through digital brushes and effects. Digital painting offers artists the flexibility to experiment with unlimited layers, undo functions, and precise control over brush strokes, making it easier to create their art.
