How to Draw the Fortnite logo (4 Simple Steps)

What is Fortnite?

Fortnite is a free-to-play game that was released in 2017 by video game publisher Epic Games. Fortnite's most popular game mode is "battle royale" which, after its release, quickly grew to become one of the most popular games ever made, drawing more than 125 million players in less than a year.

What Does the Fortnite Logo Mean?

While Fortnite isn't a very old game, it has gone through quite a few logo iterations. Fortnite's first logo was made up of letters made out of scrap metal and wood, referencing the game's building mechanics. An obvious downside of a logo like that, is that it doesn't work well when scaled down. This is why Fortnite quickly changed their logo to be more simplistic. The letters were still made up of pieces of scrap metal and wood but the logo now is one color and much more readable. A few years later, the Fortnite logo was changed again. This time, the incorporation of the pieces of metal and wood were removed and it was decided to just use a sans-serif font that still resembled the shapes of the letters from the last logo. This logo also included a background which was later removed to become the current version of the Fortnite logo.

How to Draw the Fortnite Logo

As is the case with many wordmark logos, the Fortnite logo is quite challenging to draw as a beginner. While they use a sans-serif font, the fact that all letters are skewed makes it hard to line them up and draw them that way.

Step 1: Draw a box for the Fortnite letters

To draw the Fortnite logo, first draw a rectangular outline for the whole logo to fit inside of.

Step 2: Divide the box according to the width of the letters

In order to correctly fit the letters inside the guidelines, it's easiest to first draw guidelines for each letter to avoid running out of space for the last letters.

Step 3: Draw the letters inside the outlines

Now comes the hardest part of drawing the logo, using your created guidelines to sketch the individual letters.

Step 4: Draw the letters on the sketched outlines

Lastly, trace the sketched letters and erase the sketch and outlines to finish your drawing of the Fortnite logo.
