Gadget users also vary, from children to adults. All areas of our lives almost always involve gadgets and technology. However, did you know that the sophistication of technology and the internet does not always bring benefits. Maybe for adults, they can think about how to use the internet properly. Unlike children, those with brains that are not yet able to think maturely will find it difficult to know what is good and bad in using the internet.
For this reason, children must get supervision from parents and adults in using the internet.
Some of the consequences that children get if parents do not supervise them in using the internet:
Exposure to Negative Content
Because children are not yet able to distinguish reality and fantasy, they only imitate and develop the behaviour they see. If they are often exposed to negative content such as violence, harassment and others, it can cause health problems in children. Even mental disorders in children.
Internet Addiction
Children have free access to technological devices and spend excessive time in front of the screen.
Decreased Academic Achievement
With technology, learning can be helped so that the insights gained are also broader. However, excessive and unsupervised use can disrupt concentration and interfere with children's learning.
Of the three consequences above, there may be more severe consequences. So, parents must understand the importance of supervising children who are playing on the internet. In addition, parents can educate children to read more books instead of playing on the internet. Indeed, children who rarely play the internet, they will be healthier than children who play the internet too often. No matter how busy parents are, make time to accompany children and supervise them when they are playing the internet.
