The illustration really does look very nice and lightweight. I like how gentle and almost dreamy the whole picture looks, particularly because of the pastel colours and the transparency you used. That gives it an entirely unique style. The only thing that caught my eye is the hand itself. The pose is right, but some of the fingers and joints look a bit unnatural, so I think it would really help to work from a hand reference here. I also understand what you were aiming for with the watercolour look. To me, though, it looks more like overlapping vector shapes, mainly because some of the sharp edges and the brushstrokes are also quite sharp. If you want to enhance the Aquarelle-effect further, I’d probably experiment with softer, more irregular edges and a bit more texture. Personally, I would have done it in Photoshop, but I like the fact that you’ve done it in Illustrator. Either way, I think the style has something going for it and I really like it. I’d definitely carry on experimenting with it. And honestly, I’m glad you posted it. We’re all here to learn, try things out and get feedback so we can improve our work ;)
