Geometric Abstract Logo

Geometric Abstract Logo

ZKDesigns • 1 year ago
Hey! I am Marty, creator of Athens Language School. I'm looking for someone that can make a good logo for my language school. I want the logo to be geometric and abstract. Are you willing to help us out?
This geometric abstract logo represents the Athens Language School with a modern and minimalist aesthetic. As a first design exploration, it emphasizes simplicity and clarity. The design utilizes a limited color palette to create a clean, professional look while ensuring visual cohesion. The word "School" is placed vertically, introducing a unique and contemporary element that enhances the visual flow. Geometric forms suggest structure and precision, aligning with the values of education and linguistic mastery.

Hi ZKDesigns, Thank you for sharing this first design concept for the Athens Language School logo. I appreciate you capturing the geometric and abstract feel that was requested. This is a strong start! Here is some feedback: What Works Well: Geometric Foundation: You've successfully created a logo that is clean, modern, and clearly built on geometric principles, which aligns perfectly with the initial request. Bold Typography: The font choice for "ATHENS LANGUAGE" is solid and has good weight, making it feel established and clear. Intriguing Symbol: The abstract mark is eye-catching and has a nice sense of symmetry and structure. Areas for Consideration & Suggestions: Readability of "School": The vertical orientation of the word "SCHOOL" is a unique design choice. However, it compromises legibility, especially if the logo needs to be scaled down for things like website favicons, social media profiles, or business cards. It could become difficult to read or even look like a decorative border rather than a word. Suggestion: It might be worthwhile to explore a version where "SCHOOL" is placed horizontally, perhaps underneath "LANGUAGE." Symbolism of the Icon: The abstract icon is interesting, but its meaning isn't immediately clear. It could be interpreted as a compass, a target, or a corporate shield. To better connect it to the brand, could the geometry hint more directly at themes of communication, connection, or language? For example, exploring shapes that evoke sound waves, speech bubbles, or the intersection of cultures could be powerful. Color Cohesion: The bright red and blue in the icon feel very energetic, but they seem a little disconnected from the more muted, earthy tone of the typography. Exploring a more unified color palette could strengthen the logo's overall harmony. Suggestion: Perhaps try using a single color from the icon in the text, or explore a different palette altogether that might feel more aligned with learning and academia (e.g., deeper blues, warmer golds, sophisticated greys). Overall, this is a great first exploration. The foundation is solid, and with a few refinements to enhance readability and conceptual clarity, I think this could become a really successful logo. Thank you for your creative work!

Thank you for your detailed suggestions and feedback. I attempted some of the ideas you mentioned before, but I wasn't satisfied with the appearance. Regarding the word "school" under "language," I tried that as well, but it looked off-center and created a lot of white space.
